Wilmington Police arrest male juvenile, recover stolen vehicle:
Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile and recovered a stolen vehicle.
On April 26, at approximately 2:23 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the area of West 34th and North Broom Streets, when they observed a stolen vehicle. Police attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, at which time the vehicle disregarded and fled the area. A short time later, the vehicle was located in the 800 block of West Lea Boulevard, where a male subject fled from the vehicle on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, police took a 13-year-old male juvenile into custody without incident, and recovered the stolen vehicle.
The 13-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:
- Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,500
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
- Disregarding a Police Officer’s Signal
- Resisting Arrest
