Police Seek Help Identifying Package Theft Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in identifying a male package theft suspect in an incident that occurred on Thursday, April 24, 2025. 
 
At approximately 11:33 a.m., the package, valued at $178.00, was stolen shortly after being delivered to the porch of a residence in the 400 block of 18th Avenue. The suspect then fled on foot, headed east on Springfield Avenue. He was captured on surveillance footage carrying the victim’s package. The suspect was wearing a black bubble jacket, jeans, and a black hooded sweatshirt. 
 
Director Miranda urges anyone with information about the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
