Suspicious person call related to possible drug sale leads to arrest of convicted felon for weapons and drug charges, along with a parole 
San Mateo, CA- On April 29, 2025, at 2:41 p.m., San Mateo Police officers responded to the area of 37th Avenue and S El Camino Real for a report of a possible drug deal in progress. The reporting party provided a description of the suspect and stated the suspect had drugs and a black, Glock-style pistol in a fanny pack on his person. The suspect left the area, prior to the arrival of officers.
Officers checked the area and located the suspect on the 4000 block of S El Camino Real. The suspect was detained, and officers confirmed the 44-year-old’s identity as Armando Menendez, a Modesto resident. Through the investigation, a firearm and drugs were located on Armando’s person, and Armando was arrested for multiple charges. Armando was also found to be a convicted felon on parole. Armando was transported and booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
