El Cerrito Police Department crime blotter from April 20th – April 26th

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito April 20th to April 26th

April 20th
Battery – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 12:52 PM, an officer reports a suspect struck another person during an argument over a parking space. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

Trespass – 5300 block of Poinsett Ave.
At 1:20 PM, an officer reports a suspect entered the rear yard of a vacant and empty residence. Officers arrived on scene and detained the suspect. The suspect was released on scene and relator was notified.

Vandalism – 3500 block of Carlson Blvd. (Old West Gun Room):
At 12:00 AM, a suspect shattered a rear window to the business. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

April 21st
Vehicle Theft – 11700 Block of San Pablo Ave.
At 9:08 AM, the victim reported their vehicle stolen sometime between 6:30 PM on 04/20/2025 – 4:25 AM on 04/21/2025.

April 22nd
Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave. / Cutting Blvd.
At 11:49 PM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During the investigation, officers found the driver to have an outstanding warrant for their arrest out of San Mateo County. The suspect was cited on scene and released.

April 23rd
Trespass - 9900 Block of San Pablo Ave.
At 8:25 PM, an officer reports that at 2:54 PM, a suspect entered the victim’s property. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.

Petty Theft - 1700 Block of Elm St.
At 8:52 PM, a victim reports a suspect stole a package from off the victim’s porch.

April 24th
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - 6120 Potrero Ave. (Los Moles):
At 9:51 PM, officers responded to the business for an unwanted subject. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the subject. During a search, officers found the subject to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject was cited prior to being released, and drug paraphernalia destroyed.

 April 25th  
Petty Theft - 11565 San Pablo Ave. (Walgreens):
At 7:47 PM, an officer reports a suspect removed merchandise from a secured case and fled the store prior to police arrival.

Petty Theft - 1000 Block of Navellier St.
At 10:40 PM, the victim reports a suspect stole a license plate off the victim’s vehicle.

April 26th
Burglary – Schmidt Ln. / Navellier St.
At 8:07 AM, a victim  reports their vehicle was broken into and property stolen sometime between 5:30 PM - 8:00 AM.

Public Intoxication – 6000 Potrero Ave. (Pet Vet):
At 2:42 PM, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop. During the investigation, officers found the subject to be under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for themselves. The subject was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Driving Under the Influence - Key Blvd. / Knott Ave.
At 10:01 PM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During the investigation, officers found the driver to be driving under the influence. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released with a citation to a sober friend. 

Theft with Priors / Possession of a Controlled Substance - 11450 San Pablo Ave. (Safeway):
At 10:14 PM, officers responded to the business for a theft in progress. Upon arrival, officers discovered the suspect stole merchandise and fled the business prior to police arrival. Officers later located the suspect at the Del Norte BART station and detained the suspect. During a search incident to arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Theft - 11780 San Pablo Ave.
At 11:11 PM, an officer reports a suspect stole a license plate off the victim’s vehicle.
