Big Sioux Levee Trail is open 
- The Big Sioux Levee Trail has reopened as of April 30, 2025. Golf carts are permitted on the trail from Prairie Park to the Big Sioux Levee, as well as the access point from E Pinehurst via the maintenance asphalt road. Please exercise caution when accessing the trail from E Pinehurst, as heavy construction related to the Big Sioux Levee Repair is ongoing.
- Golf carts accessing the golf course should use caution while on the trail, slowing down for pedestrians and maintaining a safe speed.
- Pedestrians always have the right of way.
- Golf carts using the trail must have a permit.
- No other motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail.
- Lieber Construction is currently awaiting materials to complete the limestone surfacing along the levee. As a result, the Big Sioux Levee Trail will be temporarily closed at some point in the next month to allow for this work. Once the material is in place, a dust control solution will be applied. A notification will be sent when the trail closure occurs and also re-opened.
- Dakota Dunes CID has been working close with CEC LLC & Lieber Construction Inc regarding the Big Sioux Levee Repair Project.

- Access to the maintenance area, including the Dog Park and Pointe Trail will be limited at times due to construction. Please use caution.
- The Pointe walking trail, located near the Big Sioux River, will be relocated further inland. The goal is to complete this work by spring or early summer 2025, weather permitting. Until further notice, this area remains closed, with closure signs in place.
