DETAILS: Update, May 2, 2025- Through the investigations of the Violent Crimes Unit, APD task force officers and the Amarillo Regional Crime Center (ARCC), two suspects were identified in this robbery. They were located in Webster County Missouri by Missouri state patrol and arrested for possession of prescription narcotics. Detectives obtained warrants for the Aggravated robbery on the two suspects, Javon Lewis, age 29 and Curtis Nelson, age 27. Both are currently in custody in Missouri. This investigation is ongoing.

On Wednesday, April 30 at 5:38am, an unidentified Black male entered the Walgreens located at 34th Avenue and Bell Street. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie, blue surgical mask, and black gloves, and was carrying a black garbage bag. He approached the pharmacy counter and presented a note indicating he was armed and demanded access to the pharmacy area.
The suspect obtained an unknown quantity of medications and fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan parked nearby. The vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on Danvers Street. The suspect is described as approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build.
The Amarillo Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is actively investigating this incident. We are asking for the community’s help.
