Incident: UCPD Case #250414006 Dead Body Investigation
Location: 33500 Block of 3rd Street
UNION CITY, CA — The Union City Police Department is actively investigating a death case following the discovery of a body inside a vehicle parked in the 33500 block of 3rd Street.
On April 14, 2025, at approximately 4:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of an adult male, initially referred to as “John Doe.” Investigators believe the body may have been inside the vehicle for several weeks prior to its discovery.
The Alameda County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 36-year-old Raul Torres of Hayward. There were no signs of obvious trauma to the body, and foul play is not suspected at this time. An official cause of death has not yet been determined.
