Gloucester Township Police Media Release- Gloucester Township Police Investigating Serious Crash Involving Electric Bike

On Saturday, May 3, 2025, at approximately 11:39 AM, the Gloucester Township Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash involving an electric bike and a sedan at the intersection of Lower Landing Road and the Black Horse Pike.

A preliminary investigation determined that the crash occurred within the intersection. The operator of the electric bicycle had been traveling on the sidewalk before entering the intersection, where they collided with the sedan, resulting in the rider being ejected from the bike. The operator of the electric bike was found at the scene with serious injuries. Medical care was rendered by Inspira Basic Life Support, Virtua Paramedics, and the Gloucester Township Fire Department (Squad 88). The injured rider was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Due to the severity of the crash, Lower Landing Road was temporarily closed between Chews Landing Road and the Black Horse Pike for several hours to allow for a thorough investigation.

The identities of those involved are being withheld pending further investigation and notification of family members.

All bike riders are encouraged to wear helmets, use reflective gear, and ensure their lights are working properly to enhance visibility. Road safety is a shared responsibility, and attentive driving and riding can help prevent serious injuries and save lives.
