Novato, Calif. – On Friday (5/2), one driver was arrested for DUI and 12 citations were issued for violations such as, driving with suspended/revoked license or without a license. The DUI checkpoint was held on Novato Blvd near Los Alondras Ct.

• 1 DUI Arrest
• 2 Drivers cited with a suspended license
• 10 Unlicensed drivers were cited
• 1,157 Motorists were contacted
• 59 Vehicles were directed to the secondary screening area

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
