AVOID BALTIMORE AVENUE NEAR CHARLES ARMENTROUT DRIVE, AND BALTIMORE AVENUE AT HAMILTON STREET. 
Hyattsville Police Department advises that a transformer blew by Franklins Restaurant in the 5100 block of Baltimore Avenue. There are low hanging wires and a bridge in the area is completely shut down on both sides at Baltimore Avenue and Charles Armentrout, and Baltimore Avenue at Hamilton Street. Heavy traffic is expected.
Please SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTES. Officers are on scene directing traffic. Metro Transit has been notified. Please have patience as we do not have an estimated time on how long the bridge will be closed. We will update when we have more information.
