Road closures and parking restrictions for 2025 Tulip Festival

2025 City of Albany Tulip Festival
Road Closures, Parking Restrictions, and Shuttle Bus Information

Street scrubbing Friday, May 9th 
Tulip Festival street scrubbing will be between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will occur on State Street between Eagle Street and Lodge Street. All motor vehicle traffic will be diverted during these hours. All parking is prohibited on this section of State Street during these hours. 

Beginning Friday, May 9th at 6:00 a.m.  through Sunday, May 11th the following Washington Park restrictions will be in effect:
-The east side of Washington Park Road from Hudson Avenue north (6) spaces.
-Both sides of Washington Park Road from New Scotland Avenue to South Lake Avenue. 

Beginning on Friday, May 9th at 6:00 a.m. through Sunday, May 11th Washington Park Road will be closed from New Scotland Avenue to South Lake Avenue.

Road Closures for the 2025 Tulip Festival:
-Beginning on Friday, May 9th at 11:00 p.m. until Sunday, May 11th at 10:00 p.m. ALL ROADS in Washington Park will be closed to all traffic. 


The following roadways will be closed to all but local residents and emergency vehicles:
-Saturday, May 10th at 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 11th at 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. the following roads will be closed;
-Lancaster Street between Lark Street and Willett Street.
-Hudson Avenue between Lark Street and Willett Street.
-Willett Street between Madison Avenue and State Street.
-Henry Johnson Boulevard between Western Avenue and State Street.
-State Street between Robin Street and Lark Street.


Saturday, May 10th at 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 11th at 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Englewood Place between Western Avenue and the south dead end will be closed to all traffic.

Parking Restrictions 2025 Tulip Festival:

Beginning on Friday, May 9th at 11:00 p.m. until Sunday, May 11th at 10:00 p.m. ALL Washington Park ROADWAYS including Henry Johnson Boulevard will be restricted to park.

Beginning on Saturday, May 10th at 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 11th at 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on both sides of Englewood Place from Western Avenue to south dead end and on both sides of Thurlow Terrace from Western Avenue to south dead end.

Beginning on Saturday, May 10th at 6:00 a.m. until Sunday, May 11th at 10:00 p.m. parking will be restricted on the following streets:
-The north side of Madison Avenue from the bus stop east of New Scotland Avenue (12) spaces east.
-The south side of State Street (4) spaces west of Henry Johnson Boulevard.
-The west side of South Pearl Street (2) spaces south of State Street.
-The north side of Madison Avenue (2) spaces west of Grand Street.
-Both sides of Elk Street (3) spaces west of Eagle Street.
-The north side of Elk Street (3) spaces west of Hawk Street.

Parking in the vicinity of Washington Park is limited. Please consider using alternate parking facilities that have been set up for this event.

CDTA shuttle bus will be running from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. The bus will make a loop to the following stops where parking is available:
-State Street at Henry Johnson Boulevard (pick up will be on the southwest corner of State Street).
-South Pearl Street at State Street (pick up will on the southwest corner of South Pearl Street).
-Madison Avenue at Eagle Street (pick up will be on the northeast corner of Madison Avenue).
-Elk Street and Eagle Street (pick up will be on Elk Street).
- Elk Street at North Hawk Street (pick up will be on Elk Street).

Parking is available for residents where parking is affected by this event:
-East Parking Garage located at the corner of Madison Avenue and Eagle Street. Parking is available Friday, May 9th after 4:00 p.m. until Monday, May 12th at 6:00 a.m.
-Cathedral & Museum Visitor lot located in the rear of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception on Madison Avenue west of Eagle Street. Parking is available on May 10th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily.
-Elk Street State Parking area which has several surface parking areas operated by NYSOGS starting on Friday, May 9th after 4:00 p.m. until Monday, May 12th at 6:00 a.m.

ALL vehicles parked in these areas must be moved by Monday, May 12th at 6:00 a.m.
