Narrative:
The Thousand Oaks Police Department is proud to announce “Coffee with a Cop” day. Coffee with a Cop brings deputies and community members together over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about resources, services, and needs of the community.

Join us Friday, May 16th, from 9:00am to 11:00am, at La Cereza Café & Bakery, 280 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. #A, Thousand Oaks, sharing a cup of coffee with neighbors. This month, members from the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office / Victim’s Assistance Unit and Courthouse Facility Dog “Trakr” will be joining us to answer community questions and concerns.

The Victims’ Assistance Unit functions to guide victims through the criminal justice process, to ensure victims’ rights are honored, and to assist victims in obtaining services to help them cope with the trauma they have suffered. Through the efforts of a dedicated team of Victim Advocates, the Victims’ Assistance Unit provides comprehensive services to victims of all types of crime.

Community trust and transparency are some of the key elements to the success of the Thousand Oaks Police Department. By sitting down and having a simple conversation, deputies and the community members they serve can continue building and growing together. The Thousand Oaks Police Department invites the community to come out and ask questions, voice concerns, get crime prevention advice, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood. This is a relaxed, informal event and is not about speeches or agendas, but simply about casual conversation. The goal of Coffee with a Cop is to get to know the community better and hear about issues the residents feel are important.

Building relationships – one cup at a time.
