Traffic congestion around UGA main campus & downtown on May 8 & 9 
Traffic congestion is expected on May 8 & 9 on and near the UGA campus, including downtown, due to school and college convocation and commencement ceremonies. Ceremonies will take place on campus and at the Classic Center.
On Thursday, May 8, graduate commencement will occur between 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM in Stegeman Coliseum. Throughout the day, there will be convocation ceremonies in different locations around campus and at the Classic Center.
On Friday, May 9, the undergraduate commencement ceremony will be held at Sanford Stadium starting at 7:30 PM. Additional school and college ceremonies will take place throughout the day at the Classic Center.
Expect congestion, possible road closures, and changes in traffic patterns around these areas. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, carpool whenever possible, and use alternative modes of transportation to avoid traffic delays.
