Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a March shooting incident following an investigation.
On March 22, at approximately 4:23 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1300 block of Banning Street, in reference to a shooting incident. Police located a 17-year-old male gunshot victim, who arrived to the hospital in stable condition.
The case was assigned to Detective Kevin Nolan of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Nolan identified 19-year-old Semaj Clark as a suspect, and obtained warrants for his arrest. On May 6, police located Clark in the 100 block of Cedar Street, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Clark has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $60,000 cash-only bail.
