Beaufort County is beginning overnight road resurfacing on US 278 from the bridge at Okatie River to the Hampton Parkway light, beginning Sunday, May 11, weather permitting.
Road work will be done from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily and is expected to last two weeks.
The resurfacing operations are funded by the Beaufort County Transportation Committee.
During construction, lane closures, road cones and signage will be visible to direct traffic safely.
Motorists and residents should be prepared for lane closures and are encouraged to use extra caution when approaching work zones.
