"Senior Assassins" Game
This morning, the Leonia Police Department received a report of a man with a gun lurking in a parking lot. For obvious reasons, the Police Department does not take gun calls lightly and multiple officers responded. Fortunately in this case, the responding officers were able to quickly determine that this call involved high school students with a toy water gun who were participating in the "Senior Assassins" game.
The "Senior Assassins" game involves high school students who target each other with water guns. Students participating in the game may be wearing swim googles and/or swim floaties. We are asking the parents of the students who are participating to ensure that all water guns look like obvious toys and not a replica gun. We would also ask that you speak to your students about how their actions in the game would appear to other residents who may report them to the Police Department as being suspicious.
This game is not approved or sponsored by the Leonia High School. Leonia High School students have been warned that the game and toy guns are strictly prohibited on school grounds.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep our students and our community safe.
