Crime Bulletin Covering the Week of April 28–May 4, 2025
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There was one robbery and one attempted robbery during the past week.
On Wednesday, 04-30-25, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to Target at the Serramonte Center on a report of a shoplifter. A loss prevention employee stated that the suspect concealed merchandise in her purse and exited the store without paying. When loss prevention attempted to detain the suspect, she pushed a security guard in an attempt to escape. The security guard told the suspect he was going to call the police. Upon hearing this, the suspect walked back with the loss prevention employee. Approximately $164 worth of merchandise was recovered. The suspect, a 33-year-old Daly City resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery.
On Wednesday, 04-30-25, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of Mission Plaza, located on the 6800 block of Mission Street. The victim stated that as she was walking through the parking lot, a vehicle approached her, and a male suspect attempted to hand her a red Chinese New Year envelope. The male suspect attempted to give her $20, but she refused. After the victim declined the money, a female suspect in the rear passenger seat handed her $5 and another red Chinese New Year envelope, instructing her to put the $5 bill inside the envelope. After the victim refused to take it, the female suspect grabbed her by the right wrist and tried to give her a gold bracelet, refusing to let go. The victim attempted to tell the female suspect to release her and tried to brush her hands off, but she was unsuccessful. The female suspect then attempted to hand her another fake gold necklace, but the victim again refused. The victim thought she was going to be kidnapped if the police did not arrive. The female suspect, a 25-year-old Seattle resident, was arrested and booked into jail for attempted robbery, false imprisonment, elder abuse, and an outstanding warrant. The male suspect, a 28-year-old transient, was arrested and booked into jail for attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
