Advisory

Flood Warning until 12:00PM

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central and southern New Hampshire, including the following counties, in central New Hampshire, Merrimack. In southern New Hampshire, Hillsborough and Rockingham.

* WHEN...Until noon EDT.

* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier and ongoing rainfall. Urban flooding is possible, especially in poor drainage areas. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 721 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a band of steady rainfall with rates around a half inch an hour. These showers are expected to last through mid to late morning and bring an additional 1 and 1.5 inches of rainfall. Rain gage reports indicate much of the area has already received 1 to 1.5 inches since last night. The combined runoff is sufficient to cause small streams to flood, along with standing water issued in low lying and poor drainage areas. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Manchester, Nashua, Concord, Derry, Merrimack, Durham, Exeter, Jaffrey and Henniker.

* AFFECTED AREAS: HILLSBOROUGH, NH ... MERRIMACK, NH ... ROCKINGHAM, NH

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
