Theft Leads to Charges for Marion Man
Deputy Caleb Balilies with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 23-year-old Ahmad Karreim Washington of Marion with the following:
- felony Breaking and/or Entering
- felony Larceny After Breaking and/or Entering
- misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer
- misdemeanor Breaking or Entering
He was issued a secured bond of $43,000.
On May 5, Deputy Baliles responded to a report of a previous breaking-and-entering. The victim stated food was missing from her residence and items had been moved around.
Video footage from a home camera revealed Washington entering the victim’s home and taking food at an estimated value of $100.
Washington was located in an abandoned trailer near the victim’s residence. Upon arrest, Washington became combative with deputies while being taken into custody.
