Twentynine Palms Student Arrested Following an Attack on Two School District Employees
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at approximately 2:35 p.m.
INCIDENT: PC 243.6 - Battery Committed Against a School Employee
LOCATION: 5455 Luckie Avenue, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT(S): 16-year-old male of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): Morongo Unified School District Employees
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at approximately 2:35 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station responded to a call for service regarding an assault on school staff at the PLUS Program in Twentynine Palms. Deputies learned a 16-year-old male student violently battered two female Morongo Unified School District employees then fled on foot from the school.
One of the staff members fell to the ground, sustained a concussion and an injury to the head. The second staff member also sustained a head injury. Medical aid was provided on-scene, and the employees received further medical care at a local hospital for their injuries.
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at approximately 8:05 a.m., Deputy Coakley located the 16-year-old suspect. The suspect was placed under arrest and booked into High Desert Juvenile Detention Center.
