San Leandro Police Make Arrests in Home-Invasion Robbery
On May 4th, 2025, just after 5 AM, SLPD officers responded to a residence in the 14700 block of Bancroft Avenue regarding a home-invasion robbery. Two masked suspects broke into the home and forced the 3 victims into a bedroom while they ransacked the rest of the house for electronics and cash. The suspects also stole the victim’s 2025 Tesla Model Y vehicle, which was later found abandoned.
Detectives from the Crimes Against Persons Unit were able to develop leads and identify the involved suspects as 24-year-old Oakland resident Isaiah Ruiz-Sandoval and 20-year-old Isaias Jimenez-Garcia, also of Oakland. Arrest warrants were obtained for both suspects.
On May 14th, 2025, SLPD detectives conducted surveillance on Ruiz-Sandoval and an associate, 25-year-old Julian Solorio of San Francisco, as they drove through various locations in Oakland. As detectives trailed the pair with the assistance of an Alameda County Sheriff’s Office air unit, Solorio was observed committing multiple auto burglaries of parked vehicles. When an apprehension was attempted, the suspects abandoned their vehicle and fled into the neighborhood in the 4600 block of Penniman Avenue. Solorio was located and taken into custody, but Ruiz-Sandoval was able to elude capture.
On May 15th, 2025, around 1:40 AM, SLPD officers responded to a burglary in-progress of an occupied residence in the 1400 block of Trojan Avenue. Arriving officers quickly established a perimeter around the residence. Alerted to the officers’ presence, the 3 suspects ran from the residence and fled into the neighborhood. With the assistance of Alameda County Sheriff’s Office deputies and a K-9 unit, 2 of the suspects were found and taken into custody. One of the suspects arrested was Ruiz-Sandoval, who was wanted in the previously mentioned home-invasion robbery. The second arrestee was 21-year-old Javier Romero-Flores of Oakland.
Later in the day, detectives were able to locate Jimenez-Garcia, the last outstanding suspect of the original home-invasion robbery, in the 2800 block of Baumberg Avenue in Hayward. Jimenez-Garcia was taken into custody without incident. Search warrants were executed at the homes of Ruiz-Sandoval and Jimenez-Garcia, and evidence linking them to the home-invasion robbery was recovered.
“A case like this showcases how an investigation can quickly develop and branch into other cases involving new suspects,” said Lieutenant Abe Teng. “More importantly, it also affirms the tenacity of our staff and their dedication to bring these suspects to justice.”
The San Leandro Police Department would like to acknowledge the invaluable assistance we received from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office and the Oakland Police Department during the investigation and closure of these cases.
