TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Bus Locations Added Due to NJ Transit Strike

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that in the event that the NJ Transit strike is not settled over this weekend, downtown traffic may be impacted by the addition of commuter buses beginning Monday, May 19, 2025.
Beginning at 2 p.m. – Buses will be lined up at the following locations:
Mulberry Street between Market Street and Lafayette Street
Columbia Street between Edison Place and Lafayette Street
The area of Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard and Market Street will also be impacted. Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes. Updates will be provided.
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
