Detective Billie Brown with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 22-year-old Jacob Daniel Stewart with felony Statutory Rape, felony Indecent Liberties with a Child, and felony Statutory Sex Offense. He was given a secured bond of $2 million.
On April 4, 2025, Deputy Josh Piercy received a report about inappropriate sexual contact involving Stewart and an underage female.
Upon an investigation, charges were filed against Stewart.
