STC Reports EXTREMELY High PST Levels in Nahku Bay Mussels. Humans and pets, cease consumption of all Molluscan Shellfish and Snails. 
The STC Environmental Department has received paralytic shellfish toxin test results for blue mussels collected from Nakhu Bay on May 12th that show results of PST levels at 2,149ug/100g, more than 26 TIMES the regulatory limit of 80ug/100g
PLEASE CEASE ALL CONSUMPTION OF MOLLUSCAN SHELLFISH AND OTHER MARINE INVERTEBRATES SUCH AS SNAILS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
PLEASE MONITOR DOGS ON THE BEACH AND PREVENT CONSUMPTION OF ALL ORGANISMS.
Crab and shrimp are okay to consume so long as all digestive elements are removed and the catch is thoroughly cleaned. PSTs can accumulate in the guts of these organisms, which is why it is important to watch dogs as they will typically consume whole individuals.
