Southern Avery County in western North Carolina... Northern Burke County in western North Carolina...

* Until 500 AM EDT.

* At 408 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Spruce Pine, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include... Ingalls, Granite Falls, Northlakes, Collettsville, Ashford, Linville Falls, Lake Hickory, Kings Creek, North Cove, and Gamewell.

* AFFECTED AREAS: AVERY, NC ... BURKE, NC ... CALDWELL, NC ... MCDOWELL, NC ... MITCHELL, NC
