Increase Law Enforcement in the area of Victoria Square on Hilton Head 
This Morning, May 17, 2025, the public can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence in the surrounding area of Victoria Square, Matthews Dr., Shrimp lane, Marshland Rd, and Gardner Dr.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a male actively breaking into vehicles in the area. Deputies responded and attempted to make contact with a subject who fled on foot. Deputies surrounded the area and searched for the subject.
The subject was apprehended and will be charged. This is still an ongoing investigation, and deputies will continue to be in the area but there is no active threat to the public.
