DETAILS : On May 18,2025 at approximately 6:40am, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle vs pedestrian accident in the 2100 block of S Coulter. A white Buick Enclave was driving south bound in the 2100 block of Coulter. The Buick left the roadway and struck a pedestrian, Brandon Waugh, 34, of Amarillo, and continued S bound coming to rest in a gravel driveway, 2000 block of Coulter. Mr. Waugh was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Buick, Brett Hudson, 35, was evaluated at a local area hospital then booked into the Potter County Detention Center, on Intoxicated Manslaughter charge. Justice of the Peace Robert Taylor ordered an autopsy on Mr. Waugh. Speed and narcotic use are factors in this crash. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Unit of the Amarillo Police Department.
