1. Attempted Robbery Arrest (Delayed) 1100 Block of North Madison Street, Civic District
On 05/17/25 at 0700 hours, the male victim, 73, was sleeping in his bed when the known suspect entered his room, repeatedly punched him, and demanded money. There was no loss. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and refused medical treatment. Today, the crimes were reported, and officers located
and arrested the suspect. ARRESTED: Arturo Hernandez, 44, for attempted robbery and elder abuse.
2. Robbery (2034) 500 Block of West Harding Way, Civic District
The female victim, 38, was working inside an area business when the suspect attempted to shoplift merchandise. The victim confronted the suspect, who shoved her out of the way and fled on foot with the merchandise. The victim was uninjured. SUSPECT: Black male adult.
3. Pursuit Arrest (0228) Commerce Street and Vine Street, Civic District
Officers attempted a traffic enforcement stop on an occupied reported stolen vehicle near the listed call location. The vehicle failed to yield, leading officers on a pursuit. The suspect vehicle made a U-turn and rammed into the marked police unit. The suspect vehicle became disabled, and officers were able to take the
suspect into custody. ARRESTED: Joseph Smith, 38, for auto theft, pursuit, and assault with a deadly weapon charges.
