Register to vote online or in-person for the June 10 Primary Election by tomorrow
Residents who are not yet registered to vote and would like to vote in the upcoming June 10 Democratic or Republican Primary Elections for Governor, State Assembly, Hudson County Sheriff, Hoboken Democratic County Committee, and Hoboken Republican County Committee, must register by end of day tomorrow, Tuesday, May 20.
To register to vote online, visit: https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/register.
Residents can also print out a paper voter registration online at https://nj.gov/state/elections/voter-registration.shtml.
Voter registration forms can be filled out and submitted at the Hoboken City Clerk's Office on the second floor of City Hall, 94 Washington St., until 9 p.m. tonight, May 19, and tomorrow, May 20. Please use the Newark Street entrance to City Hall. The Hoboken City Clerk has registration forms available in both English and Spanish.
Voters can check their voter registration status on the "Am I Registered?" page on the New Jersey Voter Information Portal.
Plan ahead for the 2025 Hoboken Memorial Day Parade Wednesday
Residents are reminded that on Wednesday, May 21, Washington Street will be closed between Observer Highway and 11th Street from approximately 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Hoboken's Annual Memorial Day Parade. During the event, NJ Transit buses will be diverted to Hudson Street and Bloomfield Street. Drivers and Hop riders should anticipate delays and traffic to be re-routed during that time.
The parade, hosted by American Legion Post 107 and the City of Hoboken, will step off at 6:30 p.m. and march from City Hall, 94 Washington St. north on Washington Street, to the viewing stand at the Elks Club, 1005 Washington St. All are invited to watch along the parade route.
2025 Junior Police Academy applications available through June 6
Hoboken residents ages 10 through 15 are reminded that applications to the Hoboken Police Department's 2025 Junior Police Academy are available through June 6. This year’s academy will take place from Monday, July 14, to Friday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Stevens Institute of Technology. 24 applicants will be selected to participate through a random lottery.
The free, week-long summer program is designed for Hoboken youth interested in learning more about law enforcement and community service and offers students a hands-on look into the field of law enforcement and the criminal justice system.

Reminder: Register for FREE Narcan training
Space is still available for next week's in-person and virtual Narcan training, hosted by the City of Hoboken's Health Division, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS), and the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
The in-person session will take place at the Multi-Service Center, 124 Grand St., on Wednesday, May 28, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. A virtual session will be held on Thursday, May 29, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A link will be provided prior to the event.
The training is free and will include overdose prevention strategies, signs and symptoms of an overdose, how to administer naloxone, and more. Those who attend the in-person class will receive a free Naloxone kit. Those who register for the virtual session will receive their kit in the mail.
Participants must be 18 or older and live, work, or go to school in New Jersey. Space is limited and registration is required by emailing [email protected] or calling 201-420-2000, ext. 5212.
