Deputies Arrest Man who Abused a Dog Causing Injury and Eventual Death
DATE/TIME: May 16, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m.
INCIDENT: PC 597(A) - Animal Cruelty/Abuse
LOCATION: 1700 block of Eagle Pass Rd, Needles, Ca.
SUSPECT(S): James Day, 51 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Friday, May 16, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department responded to a call for service regarding an animal that had been abused.
The victim and witnesses revealed James Day abused the dog approximately four months ago, causing injury to the animal that eventually led to it's death. Day was placed under arrest and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Day remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
