Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to shots fired incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a shots fired incident.
On May 13, at approximately 11:05 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 700 block of East 7th Street, in reference to a shots fired incident with no injuries. The case was assigned to Detective Thomas Rittenhouse of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Rittenhouse identified 49-year-old Jermaine Grasty as a suspect, and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On May 16, police located Grasty in the 300 block of East 5th Street, where he was taken into custody without incident and found to be in possession of a 9mm handgun.
Grasty has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon – Two Counts
- Stalking
- Aggravated Menacing – Two Counts
- Terroristic Threatening – Two Counts
- Discharging a Firearm on a City Street
- Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
