Meridian Detectives Arrest Man on 10 Counts of Possessing Child Sexually Exploitative Materials

Correction: Name spelling is Kamren KANYID JOHNSON

MERIDIAN – This morning, May 20, 2025, Meridian Police Detectives, with the assistance of the Idaho Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, arrested 20-year-old male, Kamren KANYID JOHNSON on ten counts of possession of child sexually exploitative material following an in-depth investigation that began with a cybertip.

In December 2024, the Meridian Police Department was notified of a cybertip submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The cybertip included three separate reports of potential child sexual abuse material—submitted in July, August, and November of 2024—all believed to be associated with the same online account. The tips were forwarded to the ICAC Task Force, which assigned the case to the Meridian Police Department.

Further investigation identified the suspect as a resident of Meridian, Idaho.

A search warrant was executed this morning at the Meridian address, during which detectives seized electronic evidence. Kamren KANYID JOHNSON was arrested on scene and transported to the Ada County Jail without incident.

We are proud of the diligent work done by our detectives. Protecting children is one of our highest priorities, and we remain committed to holding those who exploit them accountable. The Meridian Police Department would like to thank the ICAC Task Force for their assistance in serving the search warrant. Their partnership was instrumental in the safe and effective execution of this operation. Our department will continue to work tirelessly to safeguard the most vulnerable members of our community.
