Robert Ayala, a 26-year-old resident of Waterford, was arrested following an extensive investigation conducted by the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office and Waterford Police Services. Ayala is being charged with possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, child pornography.

The investigation began after law enforcement received information that a person in this geographical area was involved in the distribution of child sexual exploitation material. Acting on this information, investigators began the process of positively identifying the source of the material and the person responsible for its dissemination. Within a short period of time, their investigation led them to a residence in the 12000 block Dorsey St. in Waterford.

Subsequently, a search warrant was executed at this location, resulting in the seizure of digital evidence and the arrest of Robert Ayala. While in custody, Ayala gave an incriminating statement regarding possession and distribution of child pornography. After being interviewed, Ayala was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. At this time, there is no evidence indicating that the material involved local minors. However, detectives urge anyone who may have information related to this case or potential victims to contact Detective Ruezga at (209) 652-0724.
