Berkeley Police Department Celebrates and Supports LGBTQ+ Pride Month
Across the nation, June is officially recognized as National LGBTQ+ Pride Month—a time to acknowledge and support the LGBTQ+ community. The Berkeley Police Department stands in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, both within the city we serve and among the dedicated individuals within our own Department. We are committed to celebrating and safeguarding our diverse community and treating all individuals with dignity and respect.
To honor Pride Month, the Pride flag will be displayed in our lobby as a visible sign of our Department’s support for and service to the LGBTQ+ community. Berkeley PD employees are authorized to wear a Pride pin on their uniforms or plain clothes throughout the month.
Members of our Community Services Bureau and LGBTQ+ Liaisons will be attending community events throughout the month, sharing Pride-themed BPD items to celebrate and connect with our community. See us at an event—stop by and pick up your Pride patches, buttons, and stickers.
The members of the Berkeley Police Department are proud to continue expressing our unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community—both within our Department and throughout the broader Berkeley community.
