Municipal offices closed Monday
In observance of Memorial Day, municipal offices will be closed on Monday, May 26.
Street cleaning will be suspended on Monday. All other parking regulations, including parking meters, will be enforced.
Hop shuttle service will be suspended on Saturday, May 24, and Monday, May 26, in recognition of the holiday.
Waste collection and recycling will occur as regularly scheduled.
Starting Sunday, May 25, City splash pads will operate from 8 a.m. to dusk, through Labor Day, weather permitting. The following City parks have spray features:
- Church Square Park
- Elysian Park
- Jackson Street Park
- Madison Street Park
- Multi-Service Center
- Pier A
- ResilienCity Park
- Stevens Park
- Tom Olivieri Park
Please note, the spray pad feature at ReslienCity Park has been restored and will be open on Memorial Day.
Reminder: Summer kickoff with open gym & community BBQ
Residents are invited to kick off the summer season tomorrow, May 24, with an Open Gym & Community BBQ at the Damon Murray Community Gym, 605 Jackson St.
From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., residents can enjoy hot dogs and ice cream outside the gym at Seventh and Jackson Streets. Tickets will be distributed for one ice-cream cone and one hot dog per person. The first 200 hot dogs and 200 ice cream cones will be free and provided by the City. After the free servings run out, both vendors will have items available for purchase.
The Damon Murray Community Gym will be open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. for community members to shoot hoops and enjoy indoor recreation and free play. Residents should bring their own basketball as they will not be provided. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to participate.
Residents are encouraged to arrive early, as food and use of the gym is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note, no organized team practices are permitted.
