San Mateo, CA – On May 23, 2025, at 12:34 a.m., a San Mateo Police officer proactively stopped a vehicle driving in the area of S. Delaware St and 25^th Ave for illegal window tint. During the stop, the officer discovered the driver, identified as Danny Nelson, was on probation out of Alameda County for weapons charges. Nelson is also a convicted felon. During a probation search of the vehicle, a loaded, unregistered firearm was located under the passenger seat, where the passenger, Elizabeth Hill, was seated during the traffic stop.  A search of Hill’s purse revealed ammunition and ecstasy. Nelson was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon inside of a vehicle, being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, and possession of a large-capacity magazine. Hill was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon inside of a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a large-capacity magazine, and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
 
Both Nelson and Hill were booked into the San Mateo County Jail for the above listed charges without incident.
