Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
 
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, May 28, 2025
 
15th Avenue between South 12th Street and South 16th Street
South 15th Street between 16th Avenue and 14th Avenue
South 14th Street between 16th Avenue and 14th Avenue
South 13th Street between 16th Avenue and 14th Avenue  
 
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at 15th Avenue and South 14th Street.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
 
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
