El Cerrito Police Department crime blotter from April 27th – May 3rd

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito April 27th to May 3rd

April 27th
Robbery – 7022 Stockton Ave. (7-Eleven):
At 6:41 AM, a suspect entered the business and asked the clerk for merchandise. When the clerk placed the merchandise on the counter, the suspect stole the items and attempted to flee.  The clerk grabbed at the merchandise and a short scuffle ensued. The suspect fled the business with the items prior to police arrival.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle - Conlon Ave. / Key Blvd.
At 7:31 PM, officers received a stolen vehicle notification via ALPR cameras. Officers circulated the area and located the stolen vehicle.

April 28th
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 2600 block of Yuba St.
At 11:18 AM, officers located and recovered an unoccupied vehicle that was reported stolen to Oakland PD on 04/17/2025.

Harassing Phone Calls – 6500 block of Hagen Blvd.
At 1:43 PM, a victim reports a suspect who has been calling phone numbers of several family members continuous to make menacing calls.

Burglary – 300 block of Behrens St.
At 2:59 PM, an officer reports that sometime over the past three days, a suspect entered the victim’s vacant home and stole property.

Burglary – 1600 block of Julian Dr.
At 5:14 PM, an officer reports a suspect entered the victim’s residence while the victim was away and stole property.

Driving Under the Influence - Seaview Dr. / Moeser Ln.
At 11:24 PM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During the DUI investigation, officers found the driver to be under the influence. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released with a citation to a sober relative.

Grand Theft - 6009 Potrero Ave. (Mira Vista Hotel):
At 11:52 PM, an officer reports a known suspect took the victim’s purse and fled from the hotel room while the victim was in the bathroom.

April 29th  
Driving Under the Influence of Drugs / Possession of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 11700 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 12:43 PM, officers responded to a report of a collision. Officers arrived on scene and conducted a DUI investigation. During the investigation, officers found the suspect to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance. During a search of the suspect’s vehicle, officers found the suspect to be in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released with a citation to a sober friend. 

Stolen Vehicle – 800 block of Arlington Blvd.
At 2:19 PM, a victim reported a known suspect forged documents in order to sell the victim’s vehicle and give the vehicle to a third party.  

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 6300 block of Conlon Ave.
At 4:10 PM, officers received a stolen vehicle alert via FLOCK. Officers later located the vehicle parked and unoccupied. The vehicle was impounded, and the registered owner was notified. 

April 30th
Organized Retail Theft – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Lucky):
At 1:12 PM, the suspect stole miscellaneous items.

May 1st
Shoplift – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshalls):
At 1:07 PM, an officer reports a suspect stole merchandise and fled the area prior to police arrival.

May 2nd  
Shoplift / Vandalism – 9895 San Pablo Ave. (Peet’s Coffee):
At 11:59 AM, a suspect stole merchandise, damaged property, and fled the area prior to police arrival.

Burglary / Vehicle Theft – 10200 San Pablo Ave. (Autometrics):
At 12:26 PM, an officer reports a suspect entered the car dealership during business hours and stole a key to one of the cars from the lot before then leaving the business. The suspect would later return with the key and steal the vehicle from the lot.

May 3rd
Auto Burglary - 7000 Block of Cutting Blvd.
At 2:37 AM, a victim reported a suspect shattered a window to the victim’s vehicle and stole property.

Public Nuisance – 2000 El Cerrito Plaza (Ross):
At 11:28 AM, officers found a subject publicly urinating. The subject was arrested on scene and cited.

Battery – 3090 El Cerrito Plaza (Starbucks):
At 4:51 PM, the victim reports they were slapped, scratched, and hair pulled by three female juveniles suspects after an argument and ensued.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – S. 50th / Cutting Blvd.
At 8:08 PM, an officer located a recently stolen vehicle from a nearby city with the suspect of the vehicle walking away. The suspect was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
