May 4th
Driving Under the Influence - I-80 / Potrero Ave.
At 12:25 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During a DUI investigation, officers found the driver to be under the influence. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released with a citation to a sober friend.
Theft with Priors - 670 El Cerrito Plaza (CVS):
At 9:37 PM, officers responded to the business for a report for an unwanted subject. Dispatch advised officers that the subject had fled the business with stolen merchandise. Officers located the subject in the El Cerrito Plaza and was positively identified. Officers conducted a records check of the subject and discovered the subject had over three prior theft convictions. The subject was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
May 5th
Stolen Vehicle – 6500 block of Gladys Ave.
At 7:51 AM, a victim reports their vehicle was stolen sometime overnight.
Theft – San Pablo Ave. / Hill St.
At 7:50 AM, a victim reports their construction tools were stolen sometime overnight.
Theft – 5400 block of Barrett Ave.
At 12:15 PM, an officer reports copper wires were stolen from the area.
May 6th
Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Lincoln Ave.
At 7:42 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During an investigation, officers found the driver to have a warrant for their arrest. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Trespassing / Obstruct a Peace Officer / Possession Of Burglary Tools – 6800 block of Tahoe Pl.
At 9:02 AM, the victim reports a suspect entered the victim’s backyard. The victim confronted the suspect, who fled the area. Officers later located the suspect, who lied about their identity and resisted arrest. During a search incident to arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of burglary tools. The suspect was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Theft by False Pretense – 900 Block of Leneve Pl.
At 6:01 PM, an officer reports the victim was scammed out of their property.
May 7th
Possession of Counterfeit Bill – 11821 San Pablo Ave. (McDonald’s)
At 11:14 AM, the suspect used a fake $100.00 bill in an attempt to purchase food. Officers located and arrested the suspect. The suspect was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released with a citation.
False Identification to Peace Officer / Impersonating a Real Person / Warrant Arrest – Navellier St. / Sea View Pl.
At 12:49 AM, officers conducted a pedestrian stop. During the investigation, the suspect identified themselves using the name of another person. Further investigation found the suspect had an active warrant from Fresno PD. The suspect was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
May 8th
Trespassing – 6700 block of Canyon Trail
At 8:24 AM, an officers reports a suspect entered the victim’s backyard before being confronted by the homeowner. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.
Warrant Arrest – 6050 El Cerrito Plaza (Former Barnes & Noble’s Parking lot):
At 10:46 AM, an officer conducted a suspicious vehicle check. During the investigation, officers found the driver had an outstanding warrant. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Assault With a Deadly Weapon – 10300 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 11:23 AM, an officer reports that during a verbal argument, the suspect stabbed the victim in the upper torso and fled the area. Officers arrived on scene and the victim was transported to the local hospital by ambulance. Officers located and arrested the suspect. The suspect was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Battery – 10770 San Pablo Ave. (Stiiizy Parking lot):
At 1:26 PM, an officer reported both subjects were involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot. Both subjects wanted to pursue charges and were released from the scene. A report of the incident will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.
Shoplifting – 2000 El Cerrito Plaza (Ross):
At 6:59 PM, an officer reports a suspect entered the business and stole items.
Grand Theft – El Cerrito Plaza
At 9:10 PM, a victim reports their electric bicycle was stolen while shopping.
Robbery / Possession of a Concealed Weapon / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 11545 San Pablo Ave. (Ross):
At 9:15 PM, an officer reports a suspect brandished a knife towards staff and stole merchandise. Officers arrived on scene, located, and arrested the suspect. During a search incident to arrest, officers found the suspect to be in possession of an additional knife and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martienz Detention Facility.
May 9th
Driving Under the Influence – 6800 block of Fairmount Ave.
At 2:59 AM, officers were dispatched to a report of a collision. During a DUI investigation, officers found the driver at fault to be under the influence. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released with a citation to a sober friend.
