On May 24, 2025, at 10:39 p.m. Deputy Wes Baumgart conducted a traffic stop on a Red Chevy truck for speeding on US 41 near County Road 800 South.  Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Baumgart identified the driver as 23-year-old Corbin Williams of Fort Branch.  Upon speaking with Mr. Williams Deputy Baumgart detected clues that the driver was under the influence.  At that point Deputy Baumgart began a roadside DUI investigation.  At the end of his investigation, he placed Mr. Williams into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
 
Deputy Baumgart was assisted by Deputy Michael Bates, Haubstadt Officer Bryan Munnier, and Princeton Sgt. Ben Kiesel. 
 
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
