Chino Hills, Calif. – The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department- Chino Hills Station issued 16 citations for a variety of violations made by drivers during a bicycle and pedestrian safety operation on May 24, 2025.
Citations were issued to 11 riders for violations including CVC 22450(a) Fail to Stop at a Posted Stop Sign. Five bicyclists, riding electronic bicycles, were cited for CVC 12500(a) Driving without a Valid Driver’s License and CHMC 10.40.030 Riding Electronic Vehicles on a Public Sidewalk.
The operation took place in the city of Chino Hills from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with deputies contacting 16 people.
“Safety is a shared responsibility, with drivers holding the greatest responsibility to keep other road users safe,” Deputy Daniel Hernandez said. “We hope this operation serves as a reminder to everyone to practice due care and to look out for one another.”
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
