INCIDENT: PC 25850(A) - Carrying a Loaded Firearm, PC 148(A)(1) - Obstructing/Resisting an Officer and PC 243(C) - Battery on a Police Officer Causing Injury
LOCATION: Needles Highway & M Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Steve Belcher, 40-Year-Old Resident of Bullhead City, AZ
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at approximately 9:41 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Needles Highway and M Street for vehicle code violations.
During the traffic stop, deputies contacted Steve Belcher who was uncooperative and refused to identify himself. Deputies asked Belcher to exit the vehicle when he became combative. Deputies detained him and a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search, deputies located a loaded firearm. Belcher was transported to a nearby hospital for a precautionary jail check due to previous medical issues. While being transported to the hospital he assaulted the deputy, causing minor injuries.
Steve Belcher was arrested on the above mentioned charges and transported to the High Desert Detention Center for booking. He remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department in lieu of $110,000.00 bail, awaiting a court hearing
