JPD Announces New Officers Hired 
The Janesville Police Department announces the hiring of two police officers, who began their service on May 27th. The two officers were sworn in during a ceremony on May 28th.
Officer Adrian Avila is from Berwyn, IL. He attended Western Illinois University, where he completed an Undergraduate degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration and a Master’s degree in Public Safety Administration. He was formerly a Correctional Officer with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office. He will be attending the Fox Valley Technical College Police Academy in June 2025.
Officer Raphael L. DeViana is from Janesville, WI. After High School, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was an Aviation Ordnance Technician and graduated at the top of his class. He is currently attending Southern New Hampshire University to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He will be attending the Fox Valley Technical College Police Academy in June 2025.
