Crime Bulletin Covering the Week of May 19–25, 2025

When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.

Robberies

There were three robberies during the past week.

On Thursday, 05-22-25, at approximately 10:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to Safeway at the Westlake Shopping Center on a report of a disturbance. The suspect had taken chicken wings and various baby products. When approached by security, the suspect displayed a knife and left the store with the items. The security officer described the suspect as a Black female in her late twenties to mid-thirties, approximately 5 feet tall, and pushing a wagon-style stroller. This investigation is ongoing.

On Sunday, 05-25-25, at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Wilshire Avenue on a report of a robbery. The victim stated that he had stepped outside when a black SUV stopped in front of his residence. The passenger called out to the victim, but due to a language barrier, the victim did not understand what the passenger was saying and walked over to the vehicle. The passenger exited the vehicle holding a $100 bill and began rifling through the victim’s pockets with the hand containing the bill. The victim stated that he was confused and distracted by the passenger’s actions. The suspect managed to take $300 from the victim’s pants pocket, jumped back into the front passenger seat of the SUV, and fled with a suspect driver. Eventually, both suspects were located and arrested. The passenger did not have identification in her possession and verbally identified herself. She was booked into jail for robbery. The driver, a 51-year-old Anaheim resident, was booked into jail for robbery and an outstanding warrant.

On Sunday, 05-25-25, between approximately 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., at Mission Street and Flournoy Street, a victim stated that two suspects punched, kicked, and pushed her to the ground while one of the suspects took a plastic bag containing food items and $2. The victim described the first suspect as a White female in her twenties with blonde hair, approximately 5’1” to 5’2” tall, and weighing approximately 130 to 135 pounds. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic female in her twenties with dark-colored hair, approximately 5’3” to 5’4” tall, and weighing approximately 120 pounds.

Both suspects were located and arrested. One of the suspects had a glass pipe and several bags of methamphetamine in her possession. This suspect, a 37-year-old South San Francisco resident, was booked into jail for burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of unlawful paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a counterfeit, and defrauding an innkeeper. Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try!  www.nextdoor.com
