Wilmington Police arrest two men in connection to March fatal shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested two men in connection to a March fatal shooting incident following an investigation.
On March 28, at approximately 2:38 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 200 block of Bradford Street, in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police located a gunshot victim – 24-year-old Santee Renwick – who was transported to the hospital in critical condition, and later succumbed to his injuries. The case was assigned to Detective Brendan Shea of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Through the course of his investigation, Detective Shea identified 20-year-old Quadre Wright and 18-year-old Amir Morris as suspects. On April 17, Wright was located in the 400 block of South Claymont Street, where he was taken into custody without incident. On May 27, the case was presented to the New Castle County Grand Jury, and an indictment was returned for Morris, who was already committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on an unrelated matter.
Quadre Wright has been charged with the following offenses:
- Murder (First Degree)
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
Amir Morris has been charged with the following offenses:
- Murder (First Degree)
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Three Counts
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
