Due to ongoing water infrastructure upgrades as part of the Hudson Place Area Water Main Improvement project, the Citi Bike docking station on River Street between Hudson Place and Newark Street is being relocated a block north to the west side of River Street between Newark Street and First Street. During this time, Citi Bike valet operations, which ensure there are sufficient bicycles and docking space available, are moving to the docking station at Hudson Street and Hudson Place. These changes will go into effect on Monday, June 2 and are expected to last approximately a month.

The Hudson Place Area Water Main Improvement project involves the replacement of 850 feet of existing water mains. This is part of the City’s Water System Renewal Program, initiated in 2016, to modernize Hoboken’s drinking water infrastructure and reduce the need for emergency repairs. By the end of 2025, it is anticipated that 28,700 feet of aged water mains will have been replaced.
