A message from the Fairfield Police Department regarding E-Bike enforcement. Click the link for more information.
This is a message from the Fairfield Police Department regarding enhanced enforcement for E-Bike violations. Starting tomorrow, June 1, 2025, officers will begin enforcing any E-bike violations. Enforcement can be in the form of a warning or summons, and officers have the option to escort the rider and their bike back home to speak with a parent regarding these observed violations.
All bicyclists, whether they are operating an E-Bike or standard bicycle, must obey the rules of the road.
Motorists must also be aware of bicyclists and follow NJ laws to help keep them safe.
We have spent the last month educating riders and have seen improvements during that time period, however violations are still occurring.
Follow the Fairfield Police Department on social media or go to the Fairfield township website as we continue to educate on bicycle and E-Bike safety. Our goal is to help keep everyone safe during the summer months.
Thank you.
