DETAILS:

On Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 3:25 pm, the WWPD Communications Center detailed the West Windsor Division of Fire & Emergency Services, the Patrol Division and Traffic Unit to a Serious Motor Vehicle Accident involving a head on collision on Old Trenton Road between Cubberly Road and the entrance to the Mercer County Community College.

The initial investigation revealed the following:  Vehicle #1, was traveling southbound on Old Trenton Road and crossed into northbound traffic where it clipped the rear driver's side of Vehicle # 2. Vehicle # 1 continued southbound and struck Vehicle # 3 head on.  Vehicle # 1 then impacted a utility pole before coming to a final rest.

Upon patrol's arrival on scene, Vehicle # 1's engine compartment was on fire and there were live utility wires down acros the roadway.  A good samaritan extinguished the vehicle fire and left the scene.  PSE&G responded to shut down power to the wires so emergency personnel could safely manage the scene.

Driver #1 and Driver # 3 were treated by EMS and paramedics on scene and were ultimately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center by West Windsor EMS #45 and Hamilton EMS #110 for treatment of serious but non-life threatenting injuries.  Driver # 2 and all three juvenile passengers were uninjured.  The roadway was closed in the area of the collision for approximately 8 hours.

The identity of the drivers are being withheld pending investigation. Anyone with pertinent information directly related to this collision is asked to contact Traffic Officer K. LaForge at (609) 799-1222, our Anonymous Tipline at (609) 799-0452, or on his email: [email protected].
