Borough Council Meeting, Wednesday 6/4 and Tuesday 6/24
The Mayor and Council hold their regularly scheduled meetings pursuant to the provisions of the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-8(b). Meetings are held in person at Borough Hall, 221 South 5th Avenue, Highland Park, NJ at 7:00 pm. As a convenience, the Borough provides the public the option to attend meetings remotely through Zoom. The meeting agenda and support materials are posted in Borough Hall and on the Borough website at least 48 hours before the scheduled meeting.
Free Wellness Screenings, Tuesday, 6/3
Join Hackensack Meridian Health for free wellness screenings from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue. Screenings will include blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, stroke risk assessment, BMI and pulse. For more information, please contact 732-819-0052.
Caribbean American Heritage Month Flag Raising, Wednesday 6/4
The Borough of Highland Park, in partnership with the Highland Park Human Relations invites community members to a flag raising in honor of Caribbean American Heritage month at 5:00 pm at the Highland Park Community Center parking lot, 220 South Sixth Avenue. Rain or shine.
Clean & Green Weekend, Saturday 6/7 and Sunday 6/8
Sustainable Highland Park is pleased to present Clean & Green Weekend on June 7th and 8th. Join them at Molimock-Graff Park (formerly Karsey Park) on Saturday, June 7th for a community cleanup from 9:00 to 11:00 am as well as a free native plant giveaway from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. On Sunday, June 8th there will be another free native plant giveway in front of the Highland Park Public Works Department at 444 Valentine Street from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and beginning at 12:00 pm there will be a guided tour of the nearby Meadows Trail.
Pride Month Flag Raising, Wednesday 6/11
The Highland Park Human Relations Commission invites you to come together to honor, celebrate, embrace and support the diversity of our community at the Pride Month Flag Raising beginning at 6 pm at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South Sixth Avenue.
Juneteenth Flag Raising, Wednesday 6/19

Gas Leaf Blower Survey
The Borough has a Gas Leaf Blower (GLB) Task Force composed of members from the Borough Council, the Board of Health, Sustainable Highland Park and the Environmental Commission. The GLB Task Force is exploring community concerns or issues related to gas powered leaf blowers, like the State Legislature and other communities throughout New Jersey are doing. They are all interested in healthier, cleaner and quieter landscaping options. The GLB Task Force held one public information session at the Library and is planning additional public meetings. Free Groceries from H.P. Gives a Hoot, Tuesdays 6/3, 6/10, 6/17, 6/24 and Wednesdays 6/4, 6/11, 6/18, 6/25
Highland Park Gives a Hoot offers free groceries to Highland Park families in need of support. Distributions are every Tuesday & Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Zone 6 Teen Center, 600 Benner Street.
Food Pantry Distribution, Thursdays 6/12 & 6/26 & Saturdays 6/14 & 6/28
The Highland Park Food Pantry distribution takes place at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue on the second and fourth Thursdays from 9:00 – 10:45 am and 6:00 – 7:00 pm and on the second and fourth Saturdays Thursdays from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Highland Park Recreation Programs
Highland Park Recreation offers a variety of adult, youth and summer programs. Families that qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for a 60% discount on all programs offered by the Borough.
Farmers Market
The Highland Park Farmers Market is, bringing fresh, local, homemade products from farmers and vendors across New Jersey. The market is open every Friday through December 12; from 11:00 am to 4 :00 pm in February, March, November, and December; and until 5:00 pm from April through October. Shop for farm-fresh produce, baked goods, artisanal products, and more while supporting local businesses and enjoying a vibrant community atmosphere.

Fireworks in the Park, Thursday, 7/3
Highland Park will hold fireworks to celebrate Independence Day in Donaldson Park on Thursday, July 3rd this year. We hope to see you in Donaldson Park!
