Police Seek Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in identifying the below pictured male suspect in connection with two robberies that both occurred on Monday, May 26, 2025.
The first robbery occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. at a business in the 500 block of Central Avenue. A male patron inside the establishment was approached by the suspect who entered, brandished a handgun, and demanded the victim’s necklace at gunpoint.
The second robbery occurred at approximately 9:10 p.m. in the 200 block of South 10th Street where the victims were barbecuing with a group of family members and friends. The suspect, who had earlier passed by the barbecue and observed the event, returned, brandishing a firearm and demanding the belongings of two male victims. Two necklaces and a bracelet, with a total value of $8,500.00, were stolen from the first victim, and a wallet containing $30.00 and a bank debit card was stolen from the second victim.
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as a Black male, approximately 6 ft. tall and 170 pounds, who speaks with an accent. The suspect was wearing a black hooded North Face jacket. He was also wearing a ski mask, black pants, and white Jordan sneakers. He rode a black bicycle with a distinctive red attachment on its frame.
